Rubio and Sanders Comment on Immigration During Second Press Conference

During a press conference on November 16th, 2015, Jordan Rubio and Rebecca Sanders spoke on issues regarding immigration to the US.

Rubio said, “We need to find a way to incorporate [immigrants] into American life, in a reasonable and responsible way.”

According to Rubio immigrant “incorporation” would require a series of bills and “that begin by proving that illegal immigration is under control, modernizing our legal immigration system and then dealing with those who are here illegally.”

There were no indicators that Rubio had solid plans to ensure funding. Bernie also commented on immigration in a following press conference promising to sign the DREAM act into law.

The DREAM act stands for r Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors and according to ImmigrationPolicy.org, would “first grant conditional residency and upon meeting further qualifications, permanent residency.” With this undocumented people would be able to attain jobs, drivers licenses, social security numbers and etc.

Both candidates agreed that a change in the amount of people who are legally allowed to attain citizen benefits would change the way the job market currently works in the United States.
